Queen's Blog

The Scene: A metal tripod stands smoldering under the boughs of the hemlock grove. Your Queen sits on a small carpet spread beside the babbling brook. She is resplendent in her black silk and crimson leather and she wears a headdress with downward-swept heifer horns. She addresses you as you approach her. "Come and hear my words for the sight is upon me, fell tidings and fair wishes will themselves into words for ears to hear, attend!"

Dear Editor,

Recent revelations regarding domestic spying by the Bush administration are frightening to many citizens but shouldn’t be surprising to critical observers of Neoconservative policies. After all this is the bunch who trumped up a war in order to enrich their corporate buddies Halliburton et Al. While Dubya rails about the necessity for obtaining wiretaps in order to prevent “another 911” anybody who watches the news will certainly notice that it’s peace activists, environmentalist and animal rights groups that are the folks we hear about being wire tapped. Plainly Dubya is using 911 as an excuse once more to target his political enemies, which is rather Stalinist of him. His cohorts certainly haven’t arrested even one genuine domestic terrorist even though there are some really scary folks out there in the hinterland- The Brotherhood (white supremacists busily getting ready for RAHOWA) for one example. However Dubya’s minions don’t seem to be interested in chasing those guys. On the other hand if you don’t like his war or the notion of bankrupting the government to enrich the wealthiest 1% of Americans and destitute the middle class, you may be fair game. It is likely that this letter will fatten the file that certainly exists regarding my own political activities but if I feared that, I never would have written any previous letters to this newspaper. I truly love freedom and my country and if we don’t act to preserve these things they will be stolen from us.
Sincerely,

Dogbolter is now but a pleasant memory yet dispair not! for a happy new beer is brewing even as we electronicly commune today. Your Queen's Raspberry Barley Wine now graces the carboy and in mere weeks will bless our tongues. Your puissant Queen has resolved to brew large quantities of ale this solar cycle so you can count on somethin' good at Militia muster come Walpurgisnacht. Militia folk may also rejoice that new regalia has been aquired, hats! Snazzy Swiss surplus berets that are certain to raise that feeling of espirit de corpes! So be careful out there my beloved subjects, I wouldn't want to miss any of you come Bealtane!
