The Ancestor Threads Guild works with all fiber arts - spinning, weaving,
dyeing, sewing, quilting, embroidery, knitting, crocheting, magical
threadwork, etc. Our patrons are Athena and Frigga.
Our name comes from the fact that fiber arts have been around since the
Paleolithic era, when our earliest foremothers knotted dried vines together
into matting and macrame. When we spin wool (like thousand of years of
Northern forebears) or flax (like Egyptian ancients) or anything else, when
we weave (like Arachne and the Fates) or knit or embroider or just sew
together clothing to cover us, we are holding the end of an unending thread
whose other end winds far, far back into the mists of time. We continue in
the tradition of those threadmakers, whose efforts warmed and protected our
families and kept the human race both safe and properly decorated. Our
threads flow like the wind through our fingers, made from the fibers of
earth.
