The term "ghost trainer" comes from pagan electrician Zot Lynn Szurgot's musings. She pointed out that to most people, an electron is like a ghost - they mysteriously make things happen, but no one can actually see them, and their existence must be taken on faith by most people. Electricians, and others who work with technology, can make electrons jump and dance and sit up and do other tricks. It's rather like training a ghost to light your torches for you.

Of course, we pagans are earth-centered, and much of what modern technology does is not exactly good for the Earth and her denizens. Sustainable and renewable sources of energy are imperative if we are to keep anything close to our standard of living, or pass it on to our grandchildren. Sometime in the next century, after we've gotten all the possible pollution we can out of them, fossil fuels are going to run out. We need to start working with viable alternatives now, in order to save the Mother....and the human race.
